First Impressions
“First Impressions” just finished its World Premiere performance at the Cottage Theatre. Co-authored and co-directed by Jim Curtiss and my husband David Work, the show ran for five performances (not nearly enough, in my opinion). It’s a “dramedy”, with elements of both drama and comedy. The two authors cooked up a story surrounding Darrell, an actor who suffered a brain injury ten years before the story we see. Darrell’s daughter Lisa blames Darrell for all of her failed relationships, so when her current boyfriend (hopeful fiance) wants to meet her parents, Lisa balks. One thing leads to another, and we learn that “first impressions” aren’t always right … but they are often hilarious.
